立机子
Vertical treadle loom

立机子由中轴式双蹑单综斜织机发展而来，经纱平面垂直于地面，也就是说形成的织物是竖起来的，故又称为竖机。其形象曾出现在敦煌五代时期石窟中，最详细的记载为元代薛景石的《梓人遗制》，此件立机子即根据文中的描述复原而成。踏板立机的发明是为了适应特殊织品生产的需要，早期的立织机可能用于织造地毯、挂毯和绒毯之类的毛织物。到了唐宋以后，立织机在一些地区用于生产丝和棉织物。因此，它是和小布卧机子、腰机并存的织机形式之一。

Vertical loom is closer to the Slanted Treadle Loom. Because of its warp perpendicular to the ground, it is also known as "vertical loom". Its image appeared in the Dunhuang grottoes of Five Dynasties period. This loom is reconstructed according in the description of "Zi Ren Yi Zhi" by Xue Jing Shi of Yuan Dynasty.
